Cast iron profiles

The molten metal is kept in a holding furnace and enters the crystalliser through a closed system. The profile is drawn horizontally through a graphite crystalliser, the metal flows evenly and by subjecting it to high ferrostatic pressure, it achieves excellent surface quality and homogeneous structure. At the end of the process the bars are cut by a hydraulic breaking device.    

The minimum diameter is 25 mm. The maximum diameter for round bars is up to 700 mm, for square bars 550 mm and rectangles 780x550 mm. Standard lengths are 3080 mm.

In terms of product quality UNIBAR profiles are characterised by a homogeneous fine-grained structure, are free from the usual defects associated with other manufacturing methods, have excellent thermal conductivity and low internal stress. Ductile iron has strength and ductility comparable to steel.

The material properties of UNIBAR profiles increase machining productivity and production efficiency; metal removal is accelerated, tool life is improved and energy consumption in production is reduced.

UNIBAR profiles eliminate the need for expensive moulds, model equipment or dies.

Standard

UNIBAR profiles are manufactured in round, square and rectangular shapes. Special shapes can be produced after consultation. Profiles are supplied with allowances for machining, ovality, convexity and straightness.

Expanded

Upon customer request UNIBAR profiles can be delivered as roughly-machined products or finished parts according to the drawing documentation. We provide cutting to specific lengths from 1 piece, turning, milling, peeling and longitudinal drilling up to 1,000 mm.

Our Unibar cast irons and other types are available in various sizes and grades and meet Czech and international standards and customer requirements. All grades are manufactured in standard circular, square and rectangular shapes, with special shapes available on consultation with our technical experts.

Cast irons are divided into grey cast iron, ductile cast iron and Ni-resist cast iron (austenitic).
